There was a difference in restoration-free seven-year-olds between the dental practices (p < 0.01, Chi-square test). Overall, there was a difference in restoration-free seven-year-olds between the socioeconomic groups in all dental practices (p < 0.01, Chi-square test); in the highest socioeconomic group there were more children with a restoration-free dentition and less in the lowest socioeconomic group.

• Children born between July 1st 2006 and July 1st 2007 (7-year-olds)

• Registered in the dental practice between 2010 and 2014

• At least one oral health examination a year

• No caries during the first visit and the first half year after the first visit

• Primary teeth
