Both in E. faecalis and in A. naeslundii the highest variation in the number of CFUs is seen after treatment with PI, and lowest for treatment with SDF. In P. micra after contact with SDF or SDF + PI no colonies were detected, and only a low variation in the number of CFUs can be observed after treatment with PI (SDF silver diamine fluoride, PI potassium iodide; n = 6)
